What is Virgin POM (Polyoxymethylene) Resin?

Virgin POM is a linear, high-crystallinity thermoplastic engineering polymer synthesized by polymerization of formaldehyde monomers. According to different molecular structures and polymerization processes, virgin POM is mainly divided into two categories: homopolymer POM and copolymer POM.
Homopolymer POM is formed by homopolymerization of formaldehyde monomers, with higher crystallinity (up to 75-85%), more outstanding mechanical strength, hardness and fatigue resistance, and is suitable for scenarios with extremely high requirements for mechanical properties. Copolymer POM is copolymerized of formaldehyde and a small amount of dioxolane comonomer, with better thermal stability, chemical resistance and processing stability, lower tendency to thermal degradation during processing, and wider adaptation to long-term high-temperature working environments.

Virgin POM has high tensile strength, bending strength and rigidity, with tensile strength reaching 60-70 MPa and bending strength reaching 90-100 MPa, which is significantly higher than general-purpose plastics such as PP and PE. More importantly, virgin POM has excellent creep resistance and fatigue resistance, can maintain stable mechanical properties under long-term load conditions, and will not produce obvious permanent deformation after repeated impact and cyclic stress. At the same time, its molding shrinkage is uniform and stable, and the dimensional accuracy of molded parts is high, which can meet the tolerance requirements of precision parts. 4. Good Chemical and Solvent Resistance

Virgin POM has excellent resistance to most organic solvents, oils, weak acids and weak bases. It also has good resistance to common household chemicals and industrial cleaning agents, and is suitable for various complex chemical environments.
